Anna Bon is a lecturer at the Computer Science Department at VU Amsterdam and senior advisor in ICT in & for the Global South at tVU Amsterdam’s Centre for International Cooperation. She holds a PhD in ICT for Development from Maastricht University, Netherlands with her dissertation titled: Intervention or Collaboration ? Redesigning Information and Communication Technologies for Development, which was the result of 15 years field of action research in West African countries. Anna initiated and teaches an interdisciplinary master-level program on ICT4D, which entails the user-centered design and deployment of digital technologies for communities in low-resource environments. She is the PI of the interdisciplinary research programme W4RA, Web for Regreening in Africa, which aims to support farmer innovation in rural regions in West Africa through development of ethical, context-aware digital technologies. Anna Bon initiated and coordinates the European EURIDICE DEP-ADS project (2024-2027), which is being implemented by a consortium of 24 partner organizations (universities, research institutes, SMEs) accross 15 countries, worldwide.
