Fraunhofer IESE, as a partner in the EURIDICE consortium, contributed to academic outreach with a guest lecture at the Department of Computer Science of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In this session, Nedo Bartels presented his PhD project “Conceptualizing Platform Revenue Models” to Master’s and prospective PhD students.

The lecture introduced design science research and the EURIDICE-developed frameworks and methods for analyzing and designing digital platforms. A particular focus was placed on platform revenue models and taxonomy development as key elements for shaping sustainable business models around innovative software solutions. By discussing concrete research questions, modelling approaches, and examples from practice, the lecture aimed to motivate students to consider their own PhD paths in the area of digital ecosystems and platform economy.

The session was designed as an accessible, introductory contribution that connected academic research with real-world challenges, thereby supporting EURIDICE’s objectives of fostering advanced digital skills and encouraging research-driven innovation among computer science students.
