The International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) hosted an online roundtable discussion on “Value Based Engineering,” examining how economic, ethical, and societal considerations can be integrated into engineering practice of digital ecosystems.
Nedo Bartels from Fraunhofer IESE represented EURIDICE consortium expertise alongside panelists Svenja Schröder (msg Plaut) and Cornelia Seraphin (msg). The discussion explored methods for addressing social impacts of technical systems and the professional responsibility of requirements engineers and digital design experts in value-based approaches.
The roundtable addressed themes of ethics, sustainability, and digital humanism in software engineering – perspectives that align with EURIDICE’s focus on responsible approaches to digital transformation.
