Generative AI is a new tool that can be used and incorporated into studies and general research activities. It facilitates topic modeling of large datasets, it can help thematic analysis, and it can be used to do all sorts of classification tasks. Besides, it is being used as a brainstorming tool, for summarizing papers and to generate code.

Still, the level of skills how to use generative AI varies largely among disciplines. Besides all advantages and noveltoes, Gen AI comes with a number of problems and caveats. Its information is not always reliable. Gen AI does not always reveal its sources and is known to halucinate now and then. Some scholars state that Gen AI hampers the imagination of the user, making him less creative by its overwhelming output.

Moreover. ethical considerations are needed to fully understand and be able to ethically use these new tools in education and research.

From EURIDICE and Aurora project partners, lecturers and early-carrier researchers are invited to join this Winter School. A 2 ECTS course, duration: 12-23 January 2025.
