International Winter School: Social Innovations in the Digitalised World

Call for Applications

Target group: Master’s students and young researchers in economics, management, social sciences, and related fields.

Date: February 23 5.00 pm – March 23, 2026, modality: fullly online.

In an era of digital transformation, social innovation has become a powerful tool to address global and community challenges from inequality and sustainability to education and employment. The International Winter School “Social Innovations in the Digitalised World” aims to bring together young professionals and master’s students from different countries to explore how digital technologies can drive social change, entrepreneurship, and community resilience.

The program explores how technology-driven change can be harnessed to address societal challenges – from inequality and sustainability to inclusion and democratic participation.  Through a combination of lectures, interactive workshops, cross-country teamwork, and project-based learning, participants will develop digital competencies and entrepreneurial thinking for social impact.

Objectives

  • To deepen participants’ understanding of social innovation theories and practices in the digital era.
  • To design socially responsible and technology-driven solutions to real-world problems.
  • To develop entrepreneurial and sustainability-oriented thinking.
  • To encourage intercultural collaboration and co-creation across disciplines and countries.
  • To inspire students to become change agents in their local communities.
  • To provide financial support to selected students during their participation in the Winter School in accordance with the requirements of the Call for Scholarship.

Who can apply

  • Master’s students or recent graduates in Economics, Business, Management, Education, IT, or Social Sciences, and related fields who are motivated to contribute to positive social change through innovation and technology.
  • Applicants who meet the requirements published in the Call for Scholarship may apply for financial support.

How to apply

Applicants are required to complete the application form (https://forms.gle/dsvLfA4R2iA1jb9h8) and upload the following materials, clearly labeled with the applicant’s name:

  • Signed Application Letter (for participants who apply for scholarship);
  • Curriculum Vitae (Europass format preferred);
  • Short Motivation Letter (max. 300 words);
  • English Language Certificate (B2 level or higher; any free English test is acceptable);
  • Supporting Documents for each claimed eligibility criteria, issued by a responsible authority or accredited expert (for participants who apply for scholarship).

  • Master’s students or recent graduates in Economics, Business, Management, Education, IT, or Social Sciences, and related fields.
  • Applicants who meet the requirements published in the Call for Scholarship.

The application must be submitted in English. Supporting documents may be in English or Ukrainian with translations. If the provided documentation is insufficient, the Evaluation Committee may request additional information or reject the application.

Application deadline: February 9, 2026, at 4.00 p.m. (Eastern European Time, EET).

Notification of acceptance: February 17, 2026, at 4.00 p.m. (Eastern European Time, EET). Participation is free of charge (funded by the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University).
