Reflective Narratives of the Digital Society — Internship project for DIGISOC students

EURIDICE announces a new Audio-Visual Communication action-research/design science internship for 2nd year students in the master “Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship”. This internship is organized and will be supervised by four EURIDICE partners: Pangea, Leeuw Film, Babafla, AKMC, in close collaboration with filmmaker Albert Kuhn (Spain) and filmmaker Aleix Massot, director of the Barcelona Cinema School, (Spain). This internship is part of the DIGISOC study program and leads to 10 ECTS, after full completion. It will include script-writing workshops, shooting, editing, media producing, including one week of workshop in Barcelona, Spain (in May 2027).

Background

In April 2026, the students of DIGISOC have carried our a short, reflective design-science group project, as part of the module ICT for Development. They have designed and developed narratives on the future of the Digital Society, in the light of rapid technological innovations in Artificial Intelligence and their implications for humans and Society. This assignment has led to five interesting videos that were made by the students, and reflect their vision.

Given the success of this mini-project, we have organized a full internship project, in which students, with support and supervision from professionals and experts in the field of cinema and media, will teach them how to jointly design, shoot and produce a professional film.

The final production will be screened to a wide public in Vienna (September 2027), during the Digital Humanism & Education Conference.

For this internship the participating organizations combine expertise in the cultural and audiovisual sector with digital innovation:

  • Barcelona Cinema School (Spain)
  • Idle Eye Productions (Amsterdam-London)
  • Leeuw Film (Netherlands)
  • Pangea BV (Netherlands)
  • AKMC (Netherlands)
  • Babafla (Netherlands)

The internship provides students with the opportunity to design, produce and disseminate an audiovisual communication product addressing societal challenges in the context of the Digital Society. The internship is supervised academically by two certified academic lecturers, while professionals from the participating SMEs provide practical coaching throughout the production process.

For this internship, which will be done on location, scholarships will be available, so that students can participate in a joint activity in Barcelona. Part of the internship will be done through online meetings. Scholarship opportunities will soon be announced.
